The following pictures shows the Crime index for each State in US. Crime is often an important factor for people who are looking for an ideal location. The formula below gives violent crime and motor theft a higher weight, however, we thought that violent crime was a very important factor and gave it the highest weight. This was then divided by population so that larger states are not skewed.
